Tobias Kahn of Tiny Mix Tapes conducted a fantastic interview with Vashti Bunyan. She talks about everything from the the inevitable comparisons to Nick Drake, as well as a new album which she’s working on with Andy Cabic of Vetiver.

1. “INEVITABLE COMPARISON”?

   The only comparison that can be made is they are both extremely beautiful.
   I don’t hear any influence by Nick Drake in Vashti’s music.
   Nick however can be compared to his mother Molly, who was another great songwriter.

   whoever made this page isn’t doing Vashti justice by bringing up nick drake.

   The only thing the two have in common… they’re both from heaven
