Josephine Foster: This Coming Gladness

This Coming Gladness, is the newest release from Josephine Foster.  She is joined by percussionist Alex Nielson (Jandek, Will Oldham, Current 93) and guitarist Victor Herrero (who will soon be releasing a solo acoustic album).  It is difficult to write about an artist as unique and talented as Ms. Foster. In my opinion, This Coming Gladness is a seamless blend of the folk songs of Hazel Eyes I Will Lead You and the experimentation of A Wolf In Sheep’s Clothing.  Alex Nielson and Victor Herrero create a warm atmosphere that invites Josephine’s breezy, otherwordly voice to soar fourth in a truly extraordinary way.

  3. This coming gladness is pretty good once you get used to the electric intrusions. However with this release I was hoping for a development of brilliant acoustic Hazel Eyes, rather than Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.
