Jackie-O Motherfucker: Ballads of the Revolution

Ballads Of The Revolution

Maybe it’s what a week of constant drizzling rain has done to me, or my leaky ceilings, or that summer feels over and distant now and memories of good swimming still flood my mind. Or maybe it’s just that our bodies are mostly water.

But Ballads of the Revolution feels like an album that evolved straight out of the ocean. It pours out thin and silvery at first in a nearly imperceptible fog. You get lost in the mystic veil. You may experience something akin to baptism, or you may simply sit on the bank and watch what Greenwood croons in it’s final glorious track:

Like the ripples on a tranquil sea (yeah)

That rise from the deep unseen

topic that’s been written about for decades. Excellent stuff, just
