New Video: Family Portrait's Mega Secrets
I know i’ve been pretty incessantly hyping the Underwater Peoples bands but this new video for Family Portrait’s Mega Secrets is too great not to post up. I’ve really yet to tire of the song after repeated listens and the home made flame thrower clips that they’ve used to accompany it really make me feel pretty nostalgic for those younger days spent, well…lucky to have my fingers still.
Premiere: Megapuss' video for Adam and Steve
Try as I might, despite the absurdity of the project, I can’t deny the catchiness of Megapusses debut album Surfing. The new video for the single Adam & Steve sees Devendra, Greg Rorgrove and Fabrizio dancing around like crazy people and generally just having fun. You get the feeling that it must be nice to take a break away from the more serious aspects of being an artiste. I’m also always a huge advocate of artists not taking themsleves so goddamn seriously…

Sigur Rós – Gobbledigook

I’m feeling very visually inclined this week and Sigur Rós beautiful new video for their song Gobbledigook feels like the perfect way to start summer. The song is accompanied by the stunning visuals of the previously mentioned Ryan McGinley, who I think has done an amazing job at reviving the (sadly) now nostalgic concept of insouciant nudity once again- breathing in a playful life to the natural inclinations of the human body. It’s refreshing to see the post-modern constructs of nudity either being taboo or an over-exposed blase’ canvas not enough to shock or enthrall being broken down. Such is life in America in the latter half of the first decade of the 2000′s I suppose. The song itself recalls Animal Collective’s (in my opinion) most ambitious and strongest album to date Sung Tongs.
